Ten friends.
One trip a year.
For more than fifteen years, the same group of us have flown out together. Chasing fairways and long lunches across Europe. Teevine is the planning tool we always wished we’d had.
A great trip isn’t one great round. It’s the round, the dinner and the night after.
It began with ten of us and a tee time. Once a year we’d fly out together — Lake Garda one spring, San Sebastián the next, Bordeaux, Madrid, and the Côte d’Azur twice over because the first trip was too good to leave alone.
The golf was never the hard part. The planning was. Fifteen browser tabs, a half-remembered restaurant someone swore by, a course nobody could find the green fee for, and a hotel chosen because it was the only one left. Every year the best meal or the best round was the one we nearly missed.
Teevine is the tool I wish we’d had the whole time: the courses worth the flight, the tables worth booking and the bars worth staying out for — all mapped around where you actually sleep.
Where it took us
Lake Garda
Alpine water, Verona an hour south.
San Sebastián
Pintxos counters and Atlantic links.
Bordeaux
Grand cru cellars and the Médoc.
Two trips
Côte d'Azur
Cannes to Saint-Tropez — our most-repeated.
Madrid
City greens and dinners that start at ten.
Five of the trips that shaped Teevine — with a directory of dozens more destinations behind them, mapped the same way.
What makes a destination worth the flight.
Fifteen years of trips taught us that a destination either has all four of these, or it doesn’t make the cut. We don’t list the rest.
Golf worth the flight
Championship links and resort courses you’d cross a border for — not just the nearest eighteen holes.
A table worth booking
Somewhere to eat well, and eat late — from a Michelin room to harbour-side seafood and tapas worth lingering over.
A base with a pulse
A city you can walk out into after dinner. Wine bars, beach clubs and the late spots that turn a golf trip into a weekend.
Everything close
It only works if it’s near. Every course we list sits within a two-hour drive of where you stay — no more.
Opinionated, by design.
Every destination is scored out of ten across the things that actually make a trip: the golf, the food, the scene and how easily it all connects. The scores are ours — argued over the way we argue over where to go next.
No pay-to-rank. No ads dressed up as recommendations. If a place is here, one of us would happily book the next trip around it.
